With the ports of La Hume, Meyran, Gujan, Larros, and these of the Canal, la Barbotière and la Molle, Gujan-Mestras certainly deserves the much envied title of oyster capital of the Bay of Arcachon.

In Gujan-Mestras there is also a yachting port and a very nice beach, at la Hume. Moreover, it offers visitors a variety of cultural and sportive activities, as well as some impressive recreation centres.

Then there are the park of la Chêneraie and the Lake of la Magdeleine, the two green spots in the town, where many holidaymakers and local people go to enjoy a peaceful moment.
