The lake of Lacanau back to welcome page

All the charms of a very well protected lake.

"A magnificent lake of
2000 hectares..."

Situated just north of the Arcachon Basin and at some kilometres from the Atlantic coast (area of Lacanau-Ocean), the lake of Lacanau is almost entirely lined with pine trees.
Still very wild, especially in the south-western parts, the banks of the lake also boast some very beautiful beaches, as well as several isolated bays where grass, sand, gorse, and heather make up a magnificent scenery.
Much appreciated by the holiday makers who can practise numerous aquatic sports to their hearts content here, the lake of Lacanau, which falls under the Lacanau-Médoc area, also offers a lot of accommodation.

You can continue your visit to the lake of Lacanau by clicking on the map of the lake, or by directly consulting with the pages that have been dedicated to the different quarters that make up the Lacanau-Médoc district.
